Background: Bone marrow fat is a unique fat depot that is regulated independently of other fat depots. Estradiol is an important regulator of bone marrow fat. Changes in serum androgen levels in transgender women with and without gonadectomy

Introduction: Transgender women on gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) with estrogens and anti-androgens have low serum androgen levels. These low levels may be associated with clinical symptoms such as depressed mood, reduced sexual desire and tiredness.
